Distress the Dress event to benefit Women’s Bureau

FORT WAYNE — Fort Wayne Certified Image Consultant Leslee Hill, the president of Hill Image LLC, is hosting a “Distress the Dress” event on Aug. 28 to benefit the Fort Wayne Women’s Bureau. The event will take place at Foster Park from 4-7 p.m. with all proceeds from the $125 participation fee going to the Women’s Bureau.

In addition to Hill Image LLC, other companies participating in the “Distress the Dress” event will be area photographers from Bambi Guthrie Photography, Photos By Natalie, Harting Design Company and Shadowlands Photography. They will be donating their time and talent by photographing women in their old wedding dresses, girls in their old prom dresses, whole bridal parties and others as they get dirty down by the river, have their children splatter paint on the dresses or do something fun and crazy for the camera.

Participants will sign up for a time slot and have four stations at which their photographs will be taken. The volunteer photographers will then email the participants a link to their digital photographs after they have been downloaded and processed on their computers. This type of event has been gaining popularity as a fundraiser for not-for-profit organizations across the country, and Hill saw it as a way to help support the Women’s Bureau.

Individuals or groups interested in participating can register for a time slot by calling Hill at 205-2505.

Hill launched Hill Image in 2014 to work with women and men who want to improve or update their personal wardrobe and appearance. Some of her services include conducting a body fit-and-style analysis, a wardrobe evaluation, outfit styling, personal shopping and a color analysis. In addition to operating Hill Image, Hill styles clothing for Jophiel, a high-end clothier in Fort Wayne.

Hill also serves as a workshop presenter on fashion-related topics. Some of the recent workshops she presented were for the Women’s Business Forum in Angola, the annual Tapestry event, as well as for Brightpoint (formerly CANI) and the Apartment Association of Fort Wayne-Northeast Indiana. She has more than 15 years in the fashion industry, where she served as an apparel designer, an accessory fashion designer, a technical designer, and a product developer and forecaster.

Hill became a Certified Image Consultant (CIC) in 2014, after completing training with a Master Image Consultant in Fort Worth, Texas.

“I am proud to say that I am the only Certified Image Consultant in Fort Wayne,” Hill said.

Certification was through the Association of Image Consulting International (AICI), the leading and largest professional association of image consultants worldwide.
